Inspired by old photography, I used the cyanotype process, an old photography exposing technique, to print on to fabric, images of rock formations from my grandparents trip to the mountains in 1953. The color pallet was formed from the black and white qualities of the old photos, tones of blues, which are characteristics of the cyanotype process, and hints of gold to reflect vintage photo corners. The cyanotype process reflects the organic qualities of the rock formations because no two prints will be alike. This collection was designed to find a balence between the vintage inspiration and contemporary design.
